Caught in our creation

While we continue to improve materially, the patterns of accumulating and possessing that we have learned in building modern lifestyle appear to be taking over our minds and crowding out other possibilities for being and acting.

Now we are caught in our creation, addicted to an escalating intensity of desire that predisposes us to frustration and dissatisfaction.

All we have looked to for supporting our lifestyle—science, business, economic growth, medicine, and psychology—have not been effective for everyone.

Rather, they have added complexities of their own that are contributing to the confusion of our times.
